Ernie Hudson recently sat down for an interview Eurogamer to talk about Ghostbusters: The Video Game and how the Ghostbusters franchise has touched his life and career.
Still, sounds like Hudson accepts intrusions as part of the price you pay for being in a hugely successful film. He also accepts the fact he’ll always be remembered as the fourth Ghostbuster, although he had a much bigger part in the original script. “I was the guy who got slimed in the hotel, but I guess the studio felt they wanted more stuff for Bill Murray,” Hudson reveals. “I was the guy who thought of the marshmallow man on the rooftop, but then it became Danny [Akroyd]’s character.”
It was only after he won the part of Winston that the decision was made to reduce the character’s role. “And they didn’t do that till the day before we started shooting, so I didn’t have time to adjust,” Hudson says. “Yeah, when the part was cut there was some frustrating stuff associated with that. But it was what it was, and it is what it is. 24 years later, people still like the movie, and I’m glad.”

Speaking to videogaming247, in an interview that will be published later this week - Ernie Hudson, the actor who played Winston Zeddmore in the Ghostbusters movie - has revealed the length of the upcoming game’s script.
You know, I read the script, and it’s a really good script. It’s huge. It covers every possibility. A regular film script is 120 pages, this thing’s 480 pages, or something.
Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis, who also co-wrote the first two Ghostbusters films, wrote the new, original content for the game.
Hudson was at the MCM Expo in London promoting the game, to which he’s added a voice over.
All the characters are back, including Bill Murray, which I was surprised at, because Bill tends to not do these things. If you look at his movies, I think the only time he ever did a sequel was with Ghostbusters. And it took five years to get him to do that.
We’ll have more as soon as the interview is published.
Sierra Entertainment (publishers of Ghostbusters: The Video Game) announced their participation in this year’s MCM London Expo, held at the London Excel Arena on May 24th through the 25th.
From the looks of things, it looks like The Bourne Conspiracy (another Sierra title) will be playable, while Ghostbusters will be present in footage form only. Fear not, as Winston Zeddemore himself — Mr. Ernie Hudson — will make an appearance.
Sierra will be occupying stand 5802 at the MCM London Expo, situated in the Games Village and further event information can be found at http://www.londonexpo.com/.
[UPDATE]: Looks like castewar at Proton Charging had it first.
